Summary of Goals
- Develop a plan to implement electronic gatekeeper training on the OSU Columbus and Mansfield campuses, with the remaining regional campuses to follow.
- The learning community has five major goals:
- Bring together a diverse group to discuss gatekeeper training for suicide prevention.
- Send community members to trainings to obtain information and share with the group.
- Use team’s expertise on suicide prevention and on campus contexts to determine (a) campus wide interest; (b) feasibility; (c) type of training program; (d) needed technology; (e) office or individual to “host” the training; (f) necessary financial resources; (g) selection of gatekeepers; (h) piloting of program; and (i) effectiveness.
- Pilot the program, if appropriate, with a method for feedback and assessment.
- Develop a plan for a sustainable gatekeeper training program for suicide prevention.
