I enjoy teaching. I like students, and I take my professional responsibility in the classroom very seriously. I am enthusiastic about the subject matter and I think my upbeat attitude is infectious to most students. I put a substantial amount of time and energy into preparing for my courses. I am on campus and in my office most of the time and students know that they are welcome to see me for help anytime. I encourage email communication for students with tight employment/class schedule conflicts. I am a friendly, outgoing person and I relate well with students. I work hard to maintain a level appropriate for the material in the course. I also make an effort to incorporate students into the class and to make them feel comfortable around me. I try to establish an atmosphere where everyone feels free to participate. I go out of my way to say hello to students when meeting them on campus or downtown. I want them to know that they are important and that I care about their progress.
